Gregg L. Bienstock is one of the founding Members of Lumesis, Inc. Immediately prior to co-founding Lumesis, Gregg served as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of RangeMark Financial Services and spent more than thirteen years with Ambac Financial Group where, most recently, he was responsible for Strategic Initiatives and previously served as Chief Administrative Officer and Employment Counsel responsible for global Technology, Employment Law, Corporate Governance and Compliance, ERISA, Human Resources, Marketing and Administration. Prior to joining Ambac, he served as a Director of Human Resources for Bristol-Myers Squibb. From 1993 through February 1996, he was an associate in the Labor and Employment Law Department of Proskauer Rose, LLP and from 1992 through September 1993 he was an Assistant Deputy General Counsel for the Mayor’s Office of Labor Relations for the City of New York.
Gregg is a 1991 graduate of Brooklyn Law School. He received his B.S. in Business and Economics from the University of Maryland. Gregg is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors of The Children’s Village, leads a fund-raising initiative (“Tri-ing for CV”) for the Children’s Village and is an amateur triathlete.

Tim Stevens is one of the founding Members of Lumesis, Inc. Prior to that, Tim served as President of RangeMark Financial Services and served as a Senior Managing Director of Ambac Financial Group where he led all Capital Markets activity including management of the company’s investment portfolios, the Guaranteed Investment Contract business, the Global Interest Rate Derivatives business and the Global Secondary Markets Group. Previously, he ran Ambac’s Global Secondary Markets Group covering secondary market financial guarantee opportunities in several different asset classes, including US Municipal bonds, infrastructure, whole business, lease securitizations, manufactured housing, home equity, franchise loans, autos, and others. Formerly, he ran the Guaranteed Investment Contract business and was responsible for new business development and asset-liability management. Prior to that, he was a member of the Structured Credit Group, where he underwrote and executed credit derivative contracts in relation to synthetic corporate CDOs. Formerly, he served in various roles in Ambac’s Financial Control Department. Prior to his lengthy career at Ambac, Tim was a Deal Analyst in the Commercial Real Estate division of GE Capital Corporation. Prior to 1995, he worked in the Audit Services division of Deloitte & Touche LLC.
Tim graduated first in his class and with highest honors from Lehigh University with a B.S. in Business and Economics. He currently holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and was a licensed Certified Public Accountant during the years that he practiced accounting. He was also registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7) and a General Securities Principal (Series 24). Tim is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.
Joshua Laurito

Josh Laurito is one of the founding Members of Lumesis, Inc. Previously, Josh was a Managing Director at RangeMark Financial Services where he was responsible for municipal, bank and insurance credit analysis as well as the analysis of interest rate products. Prior to joining RangeMark, Josh worked at Merrill Lynch, where he specialized in underwriting structured finance resecuritizations, CLOs, and CFOs backed by hedge fund investments. Josh graduated from Columbia University with an A.B. in Chemistry and a concentration in Mathematics.

As Managing Director at Safeguard Scientifics (NYSE: SFE), Phil Moyer is responsible for deploying capital in and partnering with technology companies in the financial technology, and Enterprise 3.0 industries.
Mr. Moyer brings more than 25 years of experience to Safeguard, having most recently served as the President and CEO at EDGAR Online, Inc. (Nasdaq: EDGR). While there, he led the transformation and recapitalization of the company, reversing losses and producing quarterly operating profits.
Prior to his time at EDGAR, Mr. Moyer led a management buy-out from Capmark of Cassiopae, a European-based commercial lending software company. Before this, he spent 15 years in various senior level positions at Microsoft, managing multi-hundred million dollar P&Ls. Specific roles at Microsoft included General Manager of the Professional Services Industry, General Manager of Global Customers, and Global Manager Enterprise Services and Partners for the U.S. East Region.
In 1988, Mr. Moyer co-founded the Orion Systems Group, a company that developed administrative software for the K-12 education market. Orion Systems was later sold to SunGard. He began his career at GE Aerospace as a software developer. Since the start of his career, Mr. Moyer has served as an Angel Investor in ten companies, ranging from start-ups to $3 million growth companies.
Mr. Moyer holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh, and currently serves on the board of the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration, University of Pittsburgh. In addition, he serves on the Board of XBRL US, and Safeguard Scientifics’ partner companies Crimson Informatics and Lumesis.
Jim Ashton

Mr. Ashton is the Managing Partner of JA3Partners, LLC, an executive advisory firm that he founded in January 2011. Based in Philadelphia, his firm provides executive consulting to private equity firms and their portfolio companies in the area of business strategy, operational improvement, sales optimization, and M&A.
Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Ashton was CEO for SunGard’s Financial Systems division, a $2.5 billion business with 13,000 employees worldwide. While at SunGard, Mr. Ashton led software and service businesses in the areas of Wealth Management, Insurance, Corporate Treasury, Trading, Risk Management, Brokerage and Consulting. He also sponsored and integrated numerous key acquisitions and played an important role in SunGard's 2005 $11.3 billion leveraged buy-out with a consortium of private equity firms.
Prior to SunGard, Mr. Ashton held senior management positions at Premier Solutions Inc., a Safeguard Scientifics technology company that was acquired by SunGard in 1997. He began his career at EDS where he held various technical, sales, and managerial positions during a span of 10 years.
Kate McDonough

Kate McDonough retired in 2007 from Ambac Assurance Corp., after a 25-year career in municipal finance. At Ambac, she most recently served as a Senior Managing Director and co-head of the firm's Public Finance business. Prior to that, she was General Counsel for Public Finance, having joined Ambac in 1991 in the Legal Department.
Before joining Ambac, Ms. McDonough was an attorney at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and Hawkins, Delafield & Wood where she specialized in municipal finance and securities law practice. Prior to that, she was employed in the securities and banking industries with Merrill Lynch and the New York Stock Exchange.
She is currently serving a three year term as a public member of the Board of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, a self regulatory organization established by Congress.
Ms. McDonough graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University with a B.S. in Accounting and earned her J.D. from Fordham Law School. She was honored by Irish America Magazine as one of the Wall Street Top 50 for 2001 and is a member of the YWCA Woman Achiever Class of 1995.
Stephen P. Winterstein

Mr. Winterstein is the head of municipal fixed income strategy at Wilmington Trust and is responsible for establishing the investment process. Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Mr. Winterstein was managing director of Municipal Fixed Income at PNC Capital Advisors, LLC where he was responsible for building and leading a 16-member team that managed over $6.5 billion in municipal bond assets.
Mr. Winterstein is a former arbitrator for the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB). He has been a featured speaker at seminars and fixed income conferences on numerous topics, including price transparency in the tax-exempt municipal fixed income market. Mr. Winterstein is the 2011 Chair of the Municipal Bond Buyers Conference, as well as an active member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and the Municipal Analysts Group of New York. He is also a member of The Fixed Income Analysts Society, Inc. of New York, The Bond Club of Philadelphia and The Municipal Bond Club of Philadelphia.
Mr. Winterstein has been involved with a Standard & Poor’s roundtable in the development of their family of tax-exempt municipal indexes. He has been quoted by Bloomberg News, Reuters, and The Bond Buyer newspaper. Mr. Winterstein holds a B.A. in Economics from Millersville University and an M.B.A. from Lehigh University. Mr. Winterstein also serves as a member of the board of directors for The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Foundation, Inc., and is a former board member of the Millersville University Foundation.
